What is passive lead generation?
Passive lead generation is one of the online marketing strategies used to increase the number of clicks on your business website. There are three main ways that define this type of lead generation: blogging, youtube videos and Social media.
All of these three methods consist in the creation of content. Making a blog post about something related to your business has the possibility of attracting those interested in what you have to offer. But take note that using this way of generating leads is not one of the fastest online marketing strategies. Increasing views on either blog posts or youtube videos take a considerable amount of time (three to five months, depending on which type of content you are creating). It is hard work, but you will recover your investments in the long run.
What is direct lead generation?
Direct lead generation is another of the online marketing strategies available. It consists in having to pay a person or institution for it to either send you leads or display something in the lines of a banner, for example, that generates clicks to your business website.
The main methods of creating direct lead generation are: Solo Ads, Facebook paper-clips, search engine paper-clips, banner ads and ppv marketing. Each of these direct lead generation methods take money to put into practice. Although there is a financial part considering this online marketing strategy, the results are much faster. If chosen one of these methods, results can be seen in an interval of maximum 72 hours.
What are the differences between the two?
The biggest difference between passive and direct lead generation is the investment you have give to each. In order to be able of using direct lead generation, you must have some money to spend in it. On the other hand, passive lead generation is free to use, accessible for anyone, with money or without.
One other difference is the time/result ratio. Although free, passive lead generation takes time and effort to make it work. You have to constantly post on the blog or create video content in order to achieve some visual result. As what direct lead generation is concerned, all you have to do is pay up and the rest is done. Faster, but not for everyone
Which one is better to use?
It is hard to say which one is best between the two. One might be inclined to say that direct lead generation is the best of the online marketing strategies presented. But that is not entirely true. On the long run, passive lead generation can be as good, if not even better than the direct method. Content you created, ranked high in the search engines can get you more visits than by simply paying up. We can say that the direct lead generation is designed for a business that already has some success, while passive lead generation can be one of the good online marketing strategies for small business.
