Mr. Hall, the mayor, is expecting at least some modest tourism growing. Of Kanye’s presence, he said, “I’m kind of at least hoping that it can bear a little bit of return for the town overall.”

That idea is a worst-case scenario to others.

In January, The Cody Enterprise printed a letter from a scribe who uttered his letdown that Kanye and Kim West were “starting to diminish the faithfulnes of the state” and said he was “heartbroken to see the real Wyoming may no longer be a tourism draw for me and others.”
